Obstetric Care
The family medicine physicians at DeTar Medical Group provide prenatal to postpartum care for expectant mothers and newborns in a comfortable and caring environment. We offer low-risk pregnancy care, labor and delivery services and educational resources for new parents. And after your baby's delivery, we are there to provide quality health care for your infant, as well.
Gynecological Care
In addition to obstetrics, physicians and nurse practitioners offer gynecological care for women.
Gynecological services include:
- Annual pelvic and breast exams
- Menopause education
- Family planning
- Pap smears
- STI diagnosis and treatment
Walk-in Pregnancy Testing
Free pregnancy testing is offered on a walk-in basis at DeTar Family Medicine Center.
This service is available:
- To all women (new and existing patients)
- With any insurance plan (or even no insurance)
- Without an appointment
When you arrive at the clinic, let the front desk staff know you would like to be seen for a free pregnancy test. Depending on the number of current patients, you may be asked to wait for a short time until someone is available to administer the test.
The staff uses a lab-quality hCG test, the hormone produced during pregnancy. Our extremely sensitive, urine-based test can be administered as early as the first day of a missed period and has a 97% accuracy rate. You should have test results within a few minutes. Depending on the results, we can assist you in planning the course for your prenatal care, including help with a Medicaid application. We can also help answer questions you may have about your pregnancy.
If the results are positive, we can schedule an appointment with a physician in our clinics who works with OB patients. If the results are negative, we offer a variety of services, including birth control options, depending on your needs.
