Zakaria Abdi, M.D., is a family medicine resident at DeTar Family Medicine Center. Born and raised in Houston, he earned his biology degree from the University of Houston and completed his medical education at St. George’s University, gaining clinical experience in both the U.S. and the U.K. He chose family medicine for its focus on long-term patient relationships and hopes to one day serve a rural community, a goal he feels DeTar’s residency program is preparing him well for. He is currently accepting new patients. Most insurances, including Medicare and Medicaid, are accepted.
